Red Ouroboros box by Alison Kotzig
Found pelvic bone, moss, plaster sculpture in hand built wood box
60 x 80 x 10 cm
Ouroboros, the snake eating its tail, represents cyclicality and infinity. Pelvic bones represent death, protecting the womb and the house of creation. The Venus symbolizes fertility and represents the Divine Feminine in the act of generation.
Together, these elements represent the infinite spiral of the life held in death and the death held in life. The mathematical symbol of Infinity can be seen in the upper holes in the pelvic bone.
About The Artist
Allison is an acclaimed filmmaker and sculptor based in Miami.

Here at Oakey Doakey Art Gallery, we love the ocean as much as we love art. The beauty and power of nature is a major inspiration for many of our gallery’s art pieces. Because of this 5% of every art purchase through our gallery goes to our social initiative #OakeyDoakeyonamission: Artists against garbage where we use donations to organize local meetups to collect garbage from our oceans, rivers, and streams. Check our events to see when you can join the next one.
