Manhattan Bridge is an exclusive piece from a series of limited edition photographs in The POBY Collection, by Peter Poby.

His current project is a limited edition photography collection that focuses on landscapes blurred by forward motion. In these photos, trains, bridges, and mountains lose their intricate detail and are instead distilled down to their essential emotions.

My connection with Peter is through my husband and a work of art displayed in our Baltimore home, of which I fell in love instantly. Peter and my husband met through playing water polo; Peter’s athleticism and love for nature, water, and movement was apparent in the first work that I saw of his, and all of his subsequent pieces. At his core, Peter is an explorer—of cities, nature, and the human body—and this drive to learn, grow, and move is represented in all of his images.

‘As a former pro athlete who studied arts, design and graphics, I try to combine these two worlds, by showing the true soul and dedication of each athlete’ P.B.

Here at Oakey Doakey Art Gallery, we love the ocean as much as we love art. The beauty and power of nature is a major inspiration for many of our gallery’s art pieces. Because of this 5% of every art purchase through our gallery goes to our social initiative #OakeyDoakeyonamission: Artists against garbage where we use donations to organize local meetups to collect garbage from our oceans, rivers, and streams.
